While everyone's anticipating the Easter Bunny there's already something new for me to look forward to:
Neil Gaiman has posted an excerpt of Anansi Boys, his upcoming novel, and I can't believe that I'm supposed to wait till September to grab a copy. The excerpt is a good starting point if you haven't heard of Neil Gaiman yet.
"It begins, as most things begin, with a song."
The opening words alone kept me busy for a while pulling up memories like other people watch DVDs. It is true, most things begin with songs. I'd say most things end with songs too.
No idea where the plot is heading, but usually the Encyclopedia Mythica has a few clues to Gaiman's stories.
I first encountered Neil Gaiman's work way back when I was working in a comic book store and a co-worker got me hooked on DC's Sandman series. A new issue of Sandman usually meant a good chance for the school kids to nick a few trading cards off the counter as all of the staff was far away in The Dreaming.
Today my Neil Gaiman collection has grown to quite an annoying block of paper, when it comes to moving house. But for the periods in between moving house his books are by far the most delightful items on my bookshelf.
And apart from the good old dusty shelf I keep jpg copies of the entire Sandman series on a pen drive.
Sandman-to-go. :)
I'm starting a journal of music I'm currently listening to. Spinning today:
